Down in yon forest there stands a hall;

At the bedside there lies a stone;

Which sweet Virgin Mary could use as a throne;

Under the bed there runs a flood;
The bells of paradise I hear them ring;
The one half runs water, the other runs blood;
And I love my Lord Jesus above anything.

At the bed's foot there grows a thorn;
The bells of paradise I hear them ring;
Which ever blows blossom since he was born;
And I love my Lord Jesus above anything.

Over that bed the moon shines bright;

Denoting our Savior was born this night;
And I love my Lord Jesus above anything.

Kuŝiĝas apud la lit’ iu ŝton’;

Ĝi estus por Virga Maria la tron’;

Sub tiu lito kuradas flu’;
Aŭdiĝas jen paradiza sonor’;
Kun akvo en unu kaj sango en du;
Kaj Jesuon mi amas per tuta la kor’.

Antaŭ la lit’ kreskas dornoj en fask’;
Aŭdiĝas jen paradiza sonor’;
Eterne florintaj ek de lia nask’;
Kaj Jesuon mi amas per tuta la kor’.

Super la lito briladas la lun’;
Aŭdiĝas jen paradiza sonor’;
Ĉar nia Savanto naskiĝis nun;
Kaj Jesuon mi amas per tuta la kor’.
